Oil be there for Curling

ARTIST Peter Curling will be holding an exhibition of his recent work in Dublin during November at a new location, 82 Merrion Square, the former home of W- B. Yeats. The exhibition, his fourth in Dublin and his 13th in all. runs from 9th-i9tb November and is sure to be well worth a visit. - The lavish, strongly-coloured paintings, a mixture of landscapes and equine studies, are in oils, charcoal and water- colours and pastels- The paintings subjects range from "Pulled up, Lisgoold, "Unsaddling, Conna" and "Going Out, Ascot", to the more unusual subjects of the delightful "Batties ai Bansha". "Garrons at Ben Alder" and "Sky and Gorsc, The Curragh".

The exhibition promises to be a memorable one and should not be missed by anyone who has followed Curling's career over the past few years.

The affable artist had enjoyed success across the water with Cloonc River's half-brother Rio San Vio, the six-year-oid he had in training with his son Sam's boss Nicky Henderson. Sadly the horse suffered an injury last time out at Ludlow and has had to be put down.

He has combined forces with the Turf Club once again to produce the annual Christmas card in aid of the Drogheda Memorial Fund. The card is entitled "Snow on Johnstown Hill" and is competitively priced, with all the usual over-printing available, from numerous outlets including George Bryan's binocular hut at most race-courses.
