The Coloured Cob shows another of Peter's horses, a piebald hunter called Boris who he acquired earlier this year. Boris is a lovely easy going horse with distinctive markings and Peter has already used him several times in his paintings. The painting shows the horse and rider excercising in the hills near the artist's home.

Leading them out is a colourful racing scene. Peter used one of his own horses, Bugle Major, as the model and this good looking horse is seen on this toes, in anticipation of the race ahead.

This year Peter Curling has chosen to limit his publication of prints to just one limited edition. "A CHECK ON THE ROAD" is an outstanding example of a Peter Curling Hunting painting. Painted in the hills above Ballagh close to where the artist lives, it shows a huntsman on the road with his hounds. The background is one of a typical Tipperary landscape, and the subtle winter colours provide a suitable contrast to the luminosity of the Huntsman and his horse.


This print has been produced using the latest technology, top quality papers and inks. The Giclée method of printing guarantees light fastness and no fading. The colours in the original are accurately transferred to the print.

The Head Lad, riding a little bit away from the string, is turning and giving instructions to the other riders. As he comes over the brow of the hill he has ony a dark and threatening sky behind him and the impact is immediate. The way this print was received both in Ireland and abroad, and the speed at which it sold makes it the most popular print yet published by Cashel Fine Art and it is not surprising that this very popular print now fetches up to five times its publishing price.

Peter's second Venice print and already vey popular. The magnificent Palladian church of San Giorgio dominates the Venetian lagoon and the entrance to the Grand Canal. Using a very limited palette, Pete has chosen to paint his picture in the early morning with the back light silhouetting the building. The light on the water is dazzling as the graceful gondola moves across the foreground. Limited to six hundred and ninety five prints world-wide the initial reaction has been the strongest for any of Peter's prints and demand is expected to be very strong on the run up to Christmas.

Peter Curling has made several trips to Venice, a unique city which has attracted countless numbers of artists for centuries. The light, the architecture, water, movement and incredible atmosphere of the place all combine to make Venice an artist's paradise. This painting shows the house of the famous Venetian lover Casanova. Limited edition of 195, signed and numbered by the artist.

Painted on the latest of Peter's now annual trips to Venice, this painting captures the luminous early morning light as the sun sparkles on the lagoon. The high tide causes the gondolas moored at the quay at St Mark's to jostle and knock against each other in a syncopated dance. The classical outline of San Giorgio Maggiore dominate this timeless view of Venice.

A dramatic hunting scene published by the County Limerick Foxhounds this painting shows the hounds with their new huntsman Bernard McCoy, hunting hard from Castletown Conyers with some of the best of the County Limerick country spread out behind them.

"Royal Ascot, Jubliee Year" was originally published to raise money for Sir Peter O'Sullevan's charities. Cashel Fine Art has purchased some of these prints from the fund and can now offer them to their clients. The bright sunlight and strong colours perfectly capture the atmophere of Royal Ascot as H.M. The Queen's horse prepares to leave the paddock.

Snow at Seven Barrows is an atmospheric painting. It shows Nicky Henderson's string of top class jumpers at exercise on his gallops at the famous training establishment of Seven Barrows. Great racehorses have been trained here for generations, Derby winners, countless Cheltenham and Classic winners and many more.

Peter Curling has an interesting connection with Seven Barrows as well. It was here that he was encouraged by former trainer Peter Walwyn when he had his first exhibition at the age of fourteen in Lambourn to come and see his horses exercising. The artist was inspired by rolling Berkshire hills and the sheer size of the landscape. That inspiration has carried through to this recent painting where, in a winter landscape, the horses walk back down the gallop after exercise.

Earlier this year The J.P. McManus golf classic was held in Adare in County Limerick. Once again it proved to be a hugely popular and successful event. As before J.P. commissioned Peter to paint a picture to commemorate the event. The painting was auctioned at the celebration dinner in Adare, was top lot of the evening and raised €2,000,000 for charity. Prints of this painting which shows over one hundred and fifty of the people involved in the event are available and are now being sold in aid of the Milford Care Centre, one of the many charities which J.P. supports.

This large and impressive painting was the centrepiece of Peter's Dublin exhibition. Peter says, "I love the atmosphere and colour of the point-to-points. The crowds, the mud and steam, the action. It all contributes to a great day out".

Slievenamon provides the perfect backdrop for this large oil paintings Peter says "On a sunny day there's nowhere better to be than on a horse in Tipperary. I've always loved this view of Slievenamon from Killusty."

This recent painting shows a well-known scene at the Cheltenham Festival in March as the horses (mainly Irish) who are stabled at the racecourse are exercised in the early morning. "You can get mornings down on the track when the light can be fantastic. The sun coming through the mist and the horses often in silhouette, with Cleeve Hill slowly appearing in the background. The tension and expectation of the competition later in the day is electric."

Painted on one of his many trips to Scotland this small painting shows two garrons (Scottish stalking ponies) in the highland landscape. The simple composition and controlled use of colour made this one of the most popular paintings in Peter's Dublin show.
